<image:caption>We truly can lift each other up. All it takes is a little conscious attention to detail, and a shared vision of unity. Capable, strong and healthy in mind and body, we can work together to become a force greater than ourselves alone. When we focus on becoming authentic with ourselves, It feels natural to extend a helping hand to others on their journey too. Fitness is a state of mind and body, and wholeness is a goal we can work toward. The foundation of unity is the fundamental inter-connection of all living things, and we celebrate this with togetherness and care.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Styles - Traditional Thai Massage</image:title>
<image:caption>Nuad Boran (Northern) Thai Bodywork is usually practice in a group setting, where many people work in a large room. Thai practitioners often work with their friends, family and relations, and the more skillful practitioners offer services out of a temple or clinic. In Thailand, bodywork is the first line of support for anyone suffering from fatigue, stress or tension and a great way to expand your practice into a gentle and therapeutic exchange. Known as ‘the lazy man’s yoga’, the receiver relaxes to receive the movements, and the giver uses yoga postures to deliver an effective treatment. Practiced on the floor, Thai Bodywork is easy to learn and exchange, and a fun and safe way to connect to others in a group setting.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Styles - Partner and Acro Yoga</image:title>
<image:caption>Partner Yoga is a fun way to strengthen your body while supporting and assisting others. This requires a higher skill competency, with an emphasis on therapeutic exchange rather that performative acrobatics. Acro Yoga is a powerful practice where flyer and base work together to perform ‘flows’ of movements. It is a more advanced form of yoga that bridges into many forms of gymnastics and performance art. For this reason, it’s very important to practice with a trained practitioner! Both are so much fun to learn and practice!</image:caption>

<image:title>About - About Sue, Founder of Unity Yoga</image:title>
<image:caption>“Be a light unto yourself'“ - The Buddha Susan Horning (Sue) began her yoga journey at a young age, living overseas in Indonesia for her teen years, she was exposed to a range of cultural experiences, including visiting the temples of Borobodur. Prambanan, and Ankor Wat which stimulated her interest in eastern theologies and spiritual practices. Backpacking In her twenties, she travelled and concurrently completed her business degree at Simon Fraser University. She then enthusiastically committed herself to the pursuit of wholeness and spiritual study of subjects including classical Chinese astrology and feng shui, Thai bodywork, medical qi gong, and western herbal medicine. Susan opened Unity Yoga Teahouse in 2006 near Braodway and Commercial in East Vancouver. She invited students to “drop in for yoga, and stay for tea'“. included a warm practice space and tea room to enjoy a variety of her herbal tea blends and a boutique store. Closed in 2020, Unity Yoga was a cultural wholistic hub for Vancouver’s diverse and thriving wellness seekers. As her practice deepened and her community grew, and with the help of her companion instructors, Susan has led retreats locally to Stowel Lake Farm on Salt Spring Island and overseas trips to Guatemala and Costa Rica, and as far away as Lombok, Indonesia. Retreat inspiration blossomed from these journeys! Sue is a lifelong learner, and is qualified with a 4-year diploma in Clinical Herbal Medicine, Thai Masseuse Practitioner Trainer certificate, and as a classical Chinese astrologist and feng shui consultant. It is her goal to work toward mastery of subjects that ignite her interest and move humanity toward wholeness. Susan is now offering public glasses to her fellow gulf islands residents. She offers retreats and classes in a retreat setting close to nature and continues learning, teaching, and hosting retreats.
